Arts Council

The Arts Council is an elected group of students that represents the Arts (Drama, Dance, Visual Arts and Music) at Myer. Its mandate is to promote and raise the profile of all the Arts throughout the school. They also produce the annual talent Show and the Winter and Spring Shows. For more info, click here!

Athletic Association

The Athletic Association is made up of volunteers who assist in refereeing, scheduling and organizing intramural activities. Students are selected from grades 10, 11, 12 and meet weekly to plan athletic events including the end of year athletic banquet

Student Council

Deemed one of the most active schools in the board, Myer’s Student Council plays an integral part in the lives of numerous students. The council plans and supports a broad range of activities for students throughout the year and financially supports school clubs, activities and athletics. In addition, the council organizes buyouts and food drives to help support local community agencies. Often, a portion of the proceeds from school dances and other fundraisers is donated to local charities.
The council consists of an executive and elected representative from each grade level in the school. Grade 9 representatives are elected in October after they have settled into school routines and are familiar with council and its functions. Historically, council has enjoyed the full support of students at dances and other functions. For more info, click here!

Encounters with Canada

This one-week program runs throughout the year at the Terry Fox Centre in Ottawa. It provides an opportunity for students to explore the governmental, judicial and cultural institutions of Canada, meet experts in the theme of the week, and make friends with other participants from across Canada.

E=MC²

A multitude of mini-courses are offered annually at Queen’s University to provide a taste of university style learning. Students spend one week living in residence and attending classes in their chosen course.
