In its inaugural year, A.N. Myer is host to the only high school dance program in Niagara Falls. The dance programs are offered in Grades 10, 11 and 12. Students have the opportunity to learn and work on technical skills, choreograph, critique and perform. The dance program also offers dance teams in various genres of dance including Hip Hop, Tap and Jazz. The dance team competes in the Niagara Region and Toronto Area and is the new host school for Niagara's Best Dance Crew which is in its 4th season. Dancers regularly take part in performances and workshops throughout the school year
The Concert Band has been an integral part of Myer every year since its founding 50 years ago. The band requires its members to be able to read music and have a minimum of one year experience with a band instrument. The band has participated in numerous music competitions and has won both national and international awards. The Concert Band goes on one major trip each year with past destinations including Florida, Chicago, New York, Halifax and Montreal. The band rehearses once a week and performs in Myer’s annual Winter and Spring shows and in the community throughout the year
The Music Department offers further musical enrichment through participation in Ensembles. There are Flute, Percussion, Brass and Jazz Ensembles which practice weekly. All ensembles participate in the Winter and Spring shows and also perform in the community throughout the year
Each Spring, the Arts Council puts on a performance of Myer student talent, featuring everything from modern dance to skits to bands and solo musical performances. Auditions determine the program and stage managers, masters of ceremonies, and other behind the scenes crew are also needed.
