On February 15-18, 2017, the Myer Girls Curling Team competed at the 2017 Gore Mutual Ontario Schoolgirl Curling Championships in Perth, Ontario. In pool play, the girls finished with a 2-1 record, defeating St Theresa High School from Midland & Haliburton Highlands SS, while losing in a close game with a score of 5-4 to Vankleek CI. The girls rallied in the semi final game defeating Bishop Allen Academy from Toronto. In the process, they overcame a 1 point deficit in the last end without hammer. Myer dominated the championship game against the local rivals from St. John's Catholic HS in North Burgess. The final score was 6-4.
This season ends a three year span of Myer dominance at the high school provincial level . The girls now have 2 Gore Mutual Ontario Schoolgirl Championship Titles in 2015 & 2017, along with an OFSAA Silver Medal in 2016. This goes down in the Myer history books as probably the best ever consecutive performance from any Myer Curling team. Members of this year's Ontario Schoolgirl Championship Team are Mackenzie Kiemele (skip), Katie Ford (vice), Megan Ford (second) and Jessica Zheng (lead). Congratulations goes out to the ladies on such a successful season. You are truly Nulli Secundus!!!
