Nick Micielli Memorial Soccer Tournament

The senior boys’ soccer team competed at the: Nick Micielli Memorial Soccer tournament hosted by St Francis High School. Myer finished Thursday April 26 with one tie and a loss, but the boys returned the following Friday morning refocused and won their last pool game against St. Paul, 3 to 1 and advanced into the playoffs. In the semifinals, Myer won over Sir Winston, 6 to 0, which led to a finals matchup against Notre Dame. Your senior boys played terrific soccer on both sides of the ball, the championship match was won, 1 - nil, with the winning goal scored by striker Marco Primerano. Tournament MVP was awarded to midfielder Omesh Jayaweera (who had a spectacular goal against St. Paul and was always vocal on the pitch); honourable mention to both midfielder Nicholas Andreola (who had a fantanstic tournament, maintaining ball pocession and team balance) and striker Marco Primerano (whose finsih is amongst the best).
